It was also at this point that the National Football League first entered his life, as the Atlanta Falcons actually helped him find cleats that fit his larger build.

Deciding to attend the University of Maryland was not only a bright choice for his football career but also for his degree. Stephon Heyer graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice in the same year that he was also an All-ACC lineman and chosen to play in ESPN’s All-Bowl team. Just a month after he graduated as a fifth year senior, Heyer also played in the 2007 Hula Bowl.

Although Stephon Heyer suffered a near career ending injury to his anterior cruciate ligament in his sophomore year in 2005, he went on to be undrafted free agent in the spring of 2007.
